When it comes down to it, Xander is willing to do the right thing, to the very end if necessary, and that is real heroism.
This is a ‘Buffy in peril’ episode and I love it so much! Sometimes Buffy is a self-righteous, arrogant bitcah, but when she is in genuine peril I love her. Being the Slayer makes her so much more than normal, but it’s when she’s normal that she is her most heroic.
This episode reminds us that ‘kids’ aren’t as dumb as they seem, sometimes they see things more clearly than adults do, they cut through the crap and can boil complex ideas down to simple concepts.
Another epic episode, we’re having a bit of a run! This one only just creeps over the 25 out of 30 mark, but if we had been scoring ‘feels’, this episode would have knocked it out of the park.
Poor Cordelia, she made a wish to try and get over Xander only to realise that even in an awful alternate reality Xander and Willow are still best buds, only now they’re vampires too.
